Overview
Grand Rapids Whitewater was founded by two community members who had vision for a vibrant river. Over the past few years this vision has become reality and plans are underway for removing Sixth Street dam and restoring the form and function of the historic rapids. Grand Rapids is turning its eye back to the river with plans for continuing the revitalization of the downtown by reconnecting it to the river. Plans for aquatic habitat restoration, re-creation of the historic rapids and increased access and recreational opportunities are setting a new coarse for the future. |
